Salmon fishing in Iceland 2016

2016 Salmon fishing season in Iceland.

Never before have we had so many salmon arriving Iceland this early. Many of the big rivers have not opened yet and some will not open for another two weeks. Still, the salmon is there and it is difficult for us, anglers to wait.

THverá and Kjarrá rivers were opened 2 days ago and the opening party caught about 140 salmon which is absolutely fantastic.

Brennan and Straumarnir junction pools also recently opened and anglers have caught about 20 salmon on each beat.

Here you see few photos from the opening party of THverá and Kjarrá rivers. Everything is fully booked for those two rivers now but we are already taking down reservations for 2017.

We still have few good openings for 2016 salmon and trout fishing,
