NEW option for Salmon fishing in Iceland, 2017
Fantastic 6 rod beat with really nice 6 bedroom lodge, perfect for private groups and the price is quite reasonable.
The stretch is about 20 km long and goes from the junction of Thverá/East Rangá which is basically 8 km of East Rangá, through the junction of East/West Rangá and towards the sea which is about 12 km
All the salmon of East and West Rangá rivers goes through the beat. Approximately 20.000-30.000 salmon per year, so the fishing can be amazing.
The fishing lodge is one of the finest in Iceland. With 6 twin, ensuite bedrooms, large sitting/dining room, a large veranda, good tackle storage and a hot tub.
Fishing season on Hólsá is 3 months, July - September
Hólsá is located about 90 min drive from Reykjavik.
Anglers are mainly fishing for salmon, but there is a good sea trout after mid-August. The largest sea trout caught was 18 lbs.
