Big spring salmon in Iceland

We just got a cancellation of two rods in Thvera river the 18th - 20th of June, it is a quite rare opportunity this time a year, will you be joining us?

Thvera river is one of the best spring fishing rivers in Iceland for salmon, it is located in West Iceland, approximately one hour drive from Reykjavik.

Thvera river is the lower part of the famous Thvera/Kjarra river system and is about 90 km from where Kjarra river runs from the clear highland waters down to the junction where Thvera river meets the glacial river Hvita. Thvera river is about 26 km long and holds 7 rods in total, so there is plenty of space for each one of the rods. The 107 various fly fishing pools and the good and steady fishing, makes the river one of the most desired salmon rivers in Iceland. The access to most of the pools is comparatively easy as well as the wading.

Thvera river is fly only and most of the salmon is released, anglers are allowed to take two salmon under 70 cm per rod per day, otherwise the rest is catch-release.

The high class Thvera lodge is known for it good service to anglers, where they are provided with meals from one of Iceland's award winning chefs. The lodge contains en-suite twin rooms, a lounge and a dining room.

It is a fantastic option for those who want an extraordinary salmon fishing experience.
