The salmon has arrived in Skjalfandafljot river
The official opening of Skjalfandafljot river is on June 18th next Monday. One of the local farmers, Steingrimur Vesteinsson, was checking if the salmon had arrived to the river, it did not take long to see some salmon jumping. Skjalfandafljot is full of fish and we are expecting a great season!
Skjalfandafljot is located in the north east of Iceland and comes from Vatnajokull glacier, the biggest glacier in Europe. Skjalfandafljot is famous for many large waterfalls and its good sized salmons - often called the best kept secret of salmon rivers in Iceland. Most anglers that have fished Skjalfandafljot say it one of their favorites. The extreme surroundings in this great canyon with the mixture of all types of water and is always challenging to fish.
