Iceland - Catch statistics

How many salmon were caught in Iceland?

We all know that fishing is not all about numbers or sizes, but it is interesting to go over how the fishing has been and good to use it to predict how the future fishing will be.

On the website angling.com, you will see the total number of fish caught, and can divide by the number of rods to see how many salmon are being caught per rod.

Fishing is like the weather, although it is supposed to be good in July, it sometimes is better in June or August. So there is nothing guaranteed. Then there are other factors, too much wind/sun, too little water or the fish is arriving earlier/later than usual. It is also the charm of fly fishing, just when you think you have got it all figured out, conditions get completly different and you must use new tecniques and fish different pools.

Now the fishing season is over in many rivers in Iceland and we have the whole winter to plan our next fishing tours, so you can spend the next weeks going through old catch statistics.
