Happy New Year

Happy New Year

Thank you for choosing to travel with us in 2017. It was wonderful to meet you, old and new friends.

Our most exciting project in 2017 was the fishing in Urridafoss waterfall, which came as a BIG surprise to the whole fishing world, including ourselves. The catches were amazing and steady from June 1st, through July.

We bought a new boat for our sea angling tours and we look forward to welcoming you on board. Ideal if you have a half a day to spend. Her name is María.

The fishing in Iceland is of course always fun, but the salmon catches were below average this year. West Iceland was fine but the rest of the country was tough on most rivers. Big salmon were caught and some very big trout as well.

We are very excited about the upcoming season. Fishing starts in Iceland April 1st and the season lasts through October. Primetime for most salmon and char rivers is in July and August but sea trout season is in the spring and fall.

Lower Rangá is expected to have a super year and we have the best days of the season available, the first week of August.

Laxá in Dölum is a jewel, one of these typical Icelandic salmon river and we have very good availability there in August.

Brennan and Straumar junction pools are perfect for families or friends who like to stay private and have the fishing exclusively to themselves. Good days available in July.

Spring fishing in Laxá in Kjós is very exciting. This world known river opens with only 6 rods which gives anglers plenty of space to catch a big 2SW salmon.

We mostly do fishing and hunting tours in Iceland, but if you are interested in joining us elsewhere, then we are going:

    • Hunting in Portugal in February
    • Hunting in Greenland in March
    • Fishing and stalking in Scotland in May
    • Hunting in Greenland in August
    • Hunting in Estonia in October
    • Hunting in Croatia in November

Have a wonderful new year and we look forward to seeing you in 2018!

Harpa, Stefán, Jóhanna, Rafn, Aleksi and all the guides, drivers and lodge staff at Iceland Outfitters

Best regards, Harpa Hlín
