Hunting or shooting?

Here at Icelandoutfitters we have been wondering what terminology to use. In American english the term hunting applies to the killing of birds or wild animals as a sport or for food using guns, internationally the same applies. Whereas in British english the term hunting refers to hunting with hounds, for example fox hunting. Hunting for deer is deer stalking. The killing of game birds is referred to as shooting and likewise clay shooting or target shooting.

So to avoid confusion, we will in future be using the term hunting when referring to the killing of deer, birds and ducks.

Take care,
