Goose and/or Duck hunting day tour

Waterfowl hunting is quite big in Iceland both for international and domestic hunters. Iceland Outfitters offers some of the finest grounds for waterfowl hunting, with professional guides who have many years of hunting experience.

We love this game, it is exciting to see the birds flying to your decoys and wait for the right moment to shoot. In Iceland we mainly hunt for Greylag geese, Pink-footed geese, Mallard ducks and European wigeon ducks.

Typical itinerary - morning shooting

The guide collects you at your accommodation 2 hours before daylight and drives with you to the hunting grounds, which takes approx. 45 min. The guide starts with preparing the blinds and putting up the decoys. When the shooting starts, you will shoot for approx. 3-4 hours. After the shooting, the guide collects the birds and decoys and takes you back to your hotel. Typically you would be back around lunchtime.

Typical itinerary - evening shooting

The guide collects you at your hotel around 14:00 - 16:00 and drives with you to the hunting grounds, which takes approx. 45 min. The guide starts with preparing the blinds and putting up the decoys, when shooting starts, you will shoot for approx 2 hours. After shooting the guide collects the birds and decoys and takes you back to your hotel in the evening.
