Waterfowl hunting is quite big in Iceland, and many people love that sport. Iceland Outfitters offers some of the finest grounds for waterfowl hunting, with professional guides who have many years of hunting experience.
We love this game, it is exciting to see the birds flying to your decoys and wait for the right moment to shoot. In Iceland we mainly hunt for Greylag geese, Pink-footed geese, Mallard ducks and European wigeon ducks.
Itinerary, morning shooting.
The guide will pick you up at your hotel 2 hours before daylight and drive to the shooting fields. The guide starts with preparing the blinds and putting up the decoys. When shooting starts, we shoot for approx. 3-4 hours. After shooting, the guide collects the birds and decoys and takes you back to your hotel. Usually, we are back around lunchtime.
Itinerary, evening shooting.
The guide picks you up at your hotel around 14:00 - 16:00 and drives to the shooting fields. The guide starts with preparing the blinds and putting up the decoys, when shooting starts, we shoot for approx 2 hours. After shooting the guide collects the birds and decoys and takes you back to your hotel in the evening.
Iceland Outfitters arranges: licenses, waders, camouflage gear, shotguns and ammo - but you can bring your own if you prefer.
Reservations must be made with a minimum 1 week notice for us to apply for shooting licenses in Iceland.
