Iceland Outfitters offers a wide variety of fishing day tours from Akureyri. The fishing areas are all different, in size, character and prime time. We will advice you what to choose based on time of year, size of group and your expectations. Itinerary
Guide collects you between 6:00 – 8:00 in the morning and drives to the river. Between 7:00 – 8:00 we start fishing. Around 13:00 we stop for a lunch break and a short rest. Between 15:00 – 16:00 we start fishing again and fish until 21:00, then we drive back to Reykjavik and the guide drops you back at the hotel.

When can I fish in Iceland?
Salmon: June 5th – October 20th
Trout/char: April 1st – October 20th
Trophy trout: July 1st – September 15th
Do I need to be an experienced angler to fish?
No, it is common that our guests are fishing for the first time.
Is there a minimum number of guests for fishing trips?
No, most of our fishing tours are for 1-6 anglers.
Can children attend fishing trips in Iceland?
Yes, you are the best judge of what your kid likes. In our experience, children from 6 years and up like fishing. Parents are responsible for their children on our tours.
