Booked a last minute trout fishing trip with Iceland Outfitters and it turned out to be an epic day. I snagged a spot on the Ion Beat for brown trout which I knew nothing about prior to contacting Iceland Outfitters. Information about the Ion Beat on the Internet was very encouraging as it can produce some of the largest wild trout in the world. It did not disappoint! My first true cast produced a nice 6 or 7 pound fish. Over the next hour I caught fish on nearly every cast including a 36″ fish! The fishing didn’t really slow down and I caught 10 or so fish in total. It could have been much higher but I got cold and took some breaks to rest.
Iceland Outfitters was very prompt to respond to my inquiry and very easy to work with. My guide (Matthias) was a very nice young man and a great fisherman.
I will be sure to book another trip with them on my next visit.
