Skjalfandafljot river – Iceland Outfitters

Skjalfandafljot river

Skjalfandafljot river is one of the major rivers on the north coast of Iceland and comes from the biggest glacier in Europe, called Vatnajokull. It is a glacial river and famous for its many large waterfalls and big fish. Skjalfandafljot river is the fourth longest river in Iceland and runs through Adaldalur valley just like her sister river, Laxa river in Adaldalur.

Skjalfandafljot river is located in the heart of the north and is a definite favourite of ours. Set in the extreme surroundings in a large canyon, there is a mixture of all types of water and it is always a challenge to fish. This is the perfect place for anglers who like hiking through beautiful surroundings.

It is a great idea to combine fishing in Skjalfandafljot with the the nice Fnjoska river or even experience the mid-highland fishing in the North. If you are interested in trying out more than one fishing location we will gladly give you some ideas.
