Tungulækur – seatrout fishing
The Tungulækur river is one of the best seatrout river in Iceland. It is a small river with big fish. The river runs through stunning lava fields on the south coast some 300 km. from Reykjavik, near Kirkjubaejarklaustur town.
Tungulækur is fished with 3 rods that are sold together, for 2 or 4 days. Single-handed rods are recommended, line weight 6-8. The river is fly only and the fly selection is Trout selection, streamers and nymphs.
All Trout is released.
Tungulækur Lodge
There is a brand new high end self-catering lodge at the river bank. Every rod has a double bedroom with en suite bathroom, at the lodge there is a wading room, large kitchen, dining area and a living room overviewing the river and the mountains on the south coast.
