SOUTH COAST – PRIVATE SIGHTSEEING TOUR
This tour takes you from Reykjavik, through the south coast of Iceland, all the way to the magnificent black beach of Reynisfjara.
It starts with Seljalandsfoss, a 60-meter high waterfall that you can walk behind. We recommend you bring either a raincoat or a waterproof coat along if you want to stroll behind it which we of course highly recommend.
Skógafoss is regarded by many as the most picturesque of Icelandic waterfalls. It can be called a movie star, having been used as a background in Hollywood movies such as Thor: The Dark World and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
Dyrhólaey promontory is the southernmost point in mainland Iceland. It offers a spectacular view over Reynisfjara beach, surrounding glaciers, and its own beautifully carved rock arches.
Another spectacular stop is Reynisfjara black sand beach itself, with the Reynisdrangar rock formations and basalt columns. It is one of the most spectacular beaches in Iceland but can be quite dangerous due to powerful sneaker waves, and we kindly ask our guests not to go too close to the ocean and follow all guidelines.
The tour ends at the picturesque village of Vík í Mýrdal where you can take a glimpse at Reynisdrangar rocks from a different perspective.
