Many of you might know some of our team quite well, but here you will have the chance to get to know more of us and those you already know, a bit better.
Sverrir guide
Now we are introducing our dear Sverrir, one of our brilliant guides, which some of our clients call the fish-whisperer. He is probably the guide on our team that most of our regulars have met and fished with.
Sverrir started fishing when he was 5 years old, when his father took him fishing for Arctic char in the fall on Hörgá river in northern Iceland, then there was no turning back, the fishing addiction caught him hard (and later he infected his own son with the addiction). When he was younger, he mainly fished for Arctic char, all around the northern Iceland, which is probably the reason why the char is always his favorite fish to target – also because it can offer some challenging and technical fishing, which is what Sverrir looks for when fishing. He also loves trout and salmon fishing (just all fishing!), it all depends on the mood and circumstances. For him it is more about the moments and experiences, rather than the sizes and species. Good moments are the most memorable ones.
One of the things Sverrir thinks are the best about fishing, is when you are exhausted after a long day of fishing, but all of a sudden you start smiling for no reason – then you know it was a really good day.
During the 3 summer months, Sverrir spends at least 60 days in his waders, if not guiding, then he is fishing in good company. He has fished on 63 rivers in Iceland, and still counting!
